Shetland CATS charity
Shetland is in desperate need of a cat scanner, to find out more or if you wish to donate to the charity trying to raise money for the scanner. Please click on the link below
Why does Shetland need a CAT scanner?
Currently, over 500 people a year must travel from Shetland to Aberdeen for CAT scans. This can cause serious distress to patients, relatives and staff travelling by air and also result in longer waiting times for non-urgent scans.
A scanner based in Shetland would:
· reduce trauma to patients
· minimise transfers to Aberdeen
· cause less disruption to families
· aid faster diagnosis
· reduce waiting times for scans
